Ann Arbor Job Market Slows

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – Job growth in the Ann Arbor area appears to be considerably slower than at this time last year.
A new survey by Manpower found that about 30 percent of area companies plan to hire more employees from July through September, compared to 50 percent last year. Still, Southeast Michigan Manpower President Susan Carlson says the Ann Arbor area is doing better than other parts of southeast Michigan.
Carlson says manufacturing, transportation, education, and services are leading the hiring, while construction, finance, and real estate are expected to remain at current levels.
