Ann Arbor Public Schools Maintain Class Sizes As Student Enrollment Increases

Ann Arbor Public Schools

Ann Arbor Public Schools continues to meet its target class size goals as student enrollment increases to over 17,000.

81 percent of kindergarten classes have 23 or fewer students.  Superintendent Jeanice Swift says classes that have more students also have a teacher's assistant helping out.

77% of middle school classes have thirty or fewer students.  That number is 69% for high schools.

The district has seen an increase of 655 students in the last two years and has hired more teachers to maintain class sizes.
