Ann Arbor Public Schools families likely can put down the pen and paper when they go to register for next school year.
A plan to move to online registration is on the Ann Arbor School Board agenda tonight.
Trustee Glenn Nelson says it will save families time because information that hasn't changed like emergency contacts won't have to be re-written every year. It will also save staff time. "Office professionals were spending far too much time inputting that data into the electronic system," Nelson says.
Nelson believes the switch is a sign the tech bond has helped create an environment where the district is more readily adopting technology.
Families without access to a computer or needing assistance will be able to register at school in person.
