Art & Soul: The Performing Arts - Looking Back At 2017 Highlights & Ahead To What's Coming Up

Jenn McKee

This week, Art and Soul is about the performing arts in our area.  89.1 WEMU'S Lisa Barry is joined by local arts journalist and blogger at A2 Arts Addict Jenn McKee as they look back at some of the performing arts highlights from the past year and talk about upcoming performance events.

There were changes at the top of the University of Michigan Musical Society with the retirement of President Ken Fischer after 30 years, and with the departure of Amy Nesbitt as the head of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival.

Some of the upcoming events discussed include actor and musician Jeff Daniels, appearing December 27-31 at the theater he founded in Chelsea.

You can kick off the New Year with a laugh as "50 First Jokes" is taking place at the Art on January 2nd, and The Year Without A Panto Clause at Theatre Nova in Ann Arbor through the end of the year.
