County Approves Two-Year Budget

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – Even though state finances are still up in the air, the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners has approved the 2004-2005 two-year budget.
Commissioners last night unanimously approved spending plans of 84-point-six million dollars for 2004 and 88-million dollars for 2005.
Board chair Leah Gunn says even though 80 jobs will be eliminated by the end of next year, citizens can still expect quality services.
County Administrator Bob Guenzel says the budget will be reviewed and changes will likely have to be made next year once the state finalizes its budget.
