Mexicotte would like to begin to transition leadership to other board members.

Deb Mexicotte has, once more, been chosen to lead the Ann Arbor School Board. It is the sixth year Mexicotte has been selected as School Board President, but it could be her last. Mexicotte would like to begin to transition leadership to other board members.

This year, the board will be focused on continuing to grow programs they started last year. Mexicotte asserted "it's very exciting to start new programs and new initiatives, but we also know that it's the second year where the rubber meets the road." Mexicotte attested that this year is that crucial second year for many programs in the district.

Many of these programs include work on the STEAM program at Northside Elementary, world language programs, and development of the K-through-12 International Baccalaureate program. Mexicotte says the goal is to make sure resources are in place to make all these efforts sustainable.
