Eastern Michigan University is in the market for a new athletic director.  Heather Lyke is expected to be introduced in a press conference later today as the new A-D at Pitt

Lyke will become Pittsburgh's first-ever female athletic director, just as she was at EMU.  Lyke was a 1992 graduate of the University of Michigan, where she was a standout softball player.

She came to Eastern Michigan in 2013 after spending 15 years in the Ohio State University Athletic Department.

One of her priority tasks upon arrival at Eastern was to turn around the fortunes of a languishing  football program.  This past season, the Eagles went 7-6 and made the school's first bowl appearance since 1987.

There has been no announcement from EMU officials as to whom will serve as interim Athletic Director while a search is conducted for Lyke's replacement.
