The recently re-inflated indoor practice dome at Eastern Michigan University has a new problem.
It was late November when the indoor athletic practice facility at EMU collapsed while a high school soccer team was inside practicing. A tear in the fabric of the dome caused it to deflate, and it only recently was re-inflated. But Wednesday morning, another tear was discovered in the dome.
That new tear has now been repaired and the dome has remained inflated, but EMU Vice President of Communications Walter Kraft says the dome will remain closed while further evaluations are made. He says they hope to have the dome re-opened in the next two weeks.
