The State of Michigan's 2017 fiscal year budget brings good news for one of Eastern Michigan University's projects.
EMU will get nearly $30 million to help renovate its Strong Hall science building. Both the Michigan House and Senate approved the funding.
EMU spokesperson Geoff Larcom explains how the funds will be used.
"Modernizing classrooms and labs, lecture halls, student commons areas, and faculty offices, along with creating effectively used spaces for research and instruction, as well updating all the infrastructure..."
The University of Michigan will also receive $30 million dollars to renovate its dental school.
