Eastern Michigan University has adopted a new policy on sexual misconduct and violence on campus.
The new policy clarifies what constitutes sexual misconduct and assault, according to Melody Werner, EMU’s Title IX Coordinator. She says this new policy is an enhancement on the previous one.
She says,
“It takes into account so much more information that we have right now from both the Office of Civil Rights, from other different institutions that have maybe gone through investigations and looking at their policy. We studied all of that and feel like we came up with something that serves our community even better than before.”
The new policy took effect July 1. Find a link to it here.
