Governor Rick Snyder signed the 2019 K-12 education budget Thursday afternoon at Ypsilanti Community High School.
It's a $16.9 billion package that includes a per pupil allowance increase that ranges between $120 and $240. The governor said funds were also allocated to improve school safety.
"As roughly in the range of $55-$60 million. There is $25 million in grants that would involve school safety equipment. Doing better security measures in a school," said Snyder.
