Ypsilanti's Hamilton Crossing housing development has been recognized by The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coaliton with its 2014 Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Award.
Ypsilanti Housing Commission Executive Director says the award recognizes the sense of community among residents, and the special programs offered at the complex. Zachary Fosler says those programs include computer training, employment connections, health care and after school programs.
Hamilton Crossing was foreclosed upon by the Housing and Urban Development department in 2010 and turned over to the Ypsilanti Housing Commission. The commission began renovation work in and the complex as completed in May of 2013.
