Early next year, Eastern Michigan University will have a new interim president.

EMU interim president and provost Kim Schatzel has been appointed president of Towson University in Baltimore County Maryland.  She will start that job on January 25th.

Schatzel says meeting and interacting with students has been her favorite part of working at the university.

EMU is still in the process of hiring a permanent president and they plan to do so by the spring of 2016.

A new interim president will be announced in the weeks ahead.
