More Parking for Ann Arbor's Downtown

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – Ann Arbor's city council has taken steps to increase downtown parking options.
Council voted Monday night to have the Downtown Development Authority work to provide temporary parking at the soon-to-be-vacated city maintenance facility on Washington street.
D-D-A Director Susan Pollay says a surface lot at the site could be operating by year's end. She says the lot would also deter vandalism to the maintenance facility while public input is gathered on what to finally do with the site.
Council also asked the D-D-A to prepare a report on a possible parking structure east of City Hall.
