Sheriff Snubs Commissioners Over Budget

Ypsilanti, MI – The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department appears headed toward a two-million dollar deficit this year, primarily due to jail overcrowding which has forced the department to send inmates to jails in other counties.
Washtenaw County commissioners expressed disappointment and concern, not just over the spending, but also over Sheriff Dan Minzey's decision not to attend Wednesday night's meeting. Click on the audio icon for more from WEMU's Andrew Cluley.
