The trial date for two Detroit men accused of killing EMU football player Demarius Reed last fall has been pushed back a month.
The trial of Ed Thomas and Kristopher Pratt had been set to start June 23rd, but it's been re-scheduled for July 21st.
Since Reed's death at his off-campus apartment complex, EMU has been working to improve safety in near-campus areas.
The university is hiring 10 new police officers, has expanded patrols into neighborhoods surrounding the campus, and has worked with local apartment complexes to boost security.
