Veterans Share Their Stories Of Service - Forever Changed By Their Military Experience

Lisa Barry

With Veterans Daycoming up Saturday, there will be much focus on military veterans and those who served in the United States Armed Forces.  A special evening is planned November 8th at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, where several veterans will tell their stories combined with other musical elements.

89.1 WEMU’s Lisa Barry talked to Daniel Patrick and Kathy Hay about the event.

Daniel Patrick is the Foundation Director of Fisher House Michigan, a proposed facility the event is intended to raise awareness for.

Kathy Hay is a former Ann Arbor police officer who served in the Air Force.  She will talk about losing her son who also served in the military and wasn’t the same when he returned from duty.

The event, which is free, is also intended to create awareness of the effort to raise money for a Fisher House in Ann Arbor, where family members of injured military members stay while undergoing treatment.
