Washtenaw Community College Extends Contract With President Rose Bellanca

Washtenaw Community College

Washtenaw Community College has extended a contract with President Rose Bellanca until 2019.

The college’s Board of Trustees says Bellanca has met a number of goals, including maintaining enrollment numbers, receiving grants to expand technical programs, and limiting tuition increases.

Richard Landau is Board Chair for Washtenaw Community College.  He says, "we [the Board of Trustees] directly attribute that success to Dr. Bellanca’s leadership and the leadership team she’s put in place.”

Bellanca will receive a salary of $214,307 for the next school year.  The decision was not unanimous, however.  Trustee DaveDeVarti voted against extending Bellanca’s contract due in part to the salary increase.  Trustee Ruth Hatcher also voted no.
