Residents in Washtenaw County could have another Amtrak stop next year.

The city of Ypsilanti will continue discussing this week the possibility of a Wolverine rail stop service in Depot Town.  That's the line that travels between Chicago and Pontiac.

City manager Ralph Lange says it would give Washtenaw County travelers an option.

"I believe the projection is that there's 9,000 people will use that train in a year, okay? The stop in Ann Arbor is 144 to 143,000 use that train stop."

The city has to permanently close off two streets and build a platform for the project.
