The City of Ann Arbor needs your help to choose the winners of a manhole cover art contest.
With the help of the Ann Arbor Art Center, the designs of six semi-finalists have been selected for public voting. Three winners will be selected, and their art will be displayed on cast iron manhole covers that will be installed throughout the city when construction projects take place.
Mae Skidmore is the Creative Director for the Art Center. She describes some of the designs.
"One is basically a streetscape, a map of Ann Arbor. We have one that's on the tree town theme , of course. We have one that is a very cool design if different Ann Arbor landmarks," says Skidmore.
You can vote for your favorite design until February 25th. To vote, click here.Non-commercial, fact based reporting is made possible by your financial support. Make your donation to WEMU today to keep your community NPR station thriving.
