Ypsilanti Business Woman Makes Crain's '40 Under 40' List

crainsdetroit.com

Two years ago, an Ypsilanti woman created the DiverseNote career management social networking site.  She's now been recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as one of the area's up-and-coming young business people.

Tekisha Lee has been named to Crain's "40 Under 40" list.  She says her business helps match job seekers in the diversity community with employers.

"Our approach is a little bit different in reference to the use of social media, outreach and recruitment and training of minorities or professionals from the diversity community," Lee says, "providing mentorship services and data analytics that we use for training and for career matches with large organizations and federal organizations which we provide services for."

Lee says her biggest business client is the U.S. Social Security Administration.  DiverseNote had revenue of $1.2 million last year, and the 34 year-old Lee expects this year's revenue to be close to twice that amount.
