Ypsilanti Heritage Festival Seeks Community's Help

It may feel like winter outside, but organizers of the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival have summer - and the 2015 edition of the festival - on their minds.

Festival board president David Nickerson says they need lots of help from the community in order to put on a successful event.

"We are at this point a completely volunteer organization," Nickerson says, "and so all of the work that goes into the planning and execution of the event requires the help and support of the community."

Nickerson says a community meeting Thursday night will highlight the various areas in which volunteer and sponsorship help is needed.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Arbor Brewing Company Microbrewery, formerly the Corner Brewery, on Norris Street in Ypsilanti.
