Ypsilanti Income Tax

Ypsilanti, MI – After years of budget cuts and service reductions, the city of Ypsilanti is still struggling to keep its budget balanced. Now, it looks like a city income tax proposal will go before city voters this fall.
Eastern Michigan University political science professor Joe Ohren does a great deal of municipal consulting work in the state. He's been working with Ypsilanti on the income tax proposal, and discusses its pros and cons with WEMU's Bob Eccles. Click on the audio icon for more.
