The principal of Ypsilanti Community High School Tanya Bowman has been placed on administrative leave.
The decision was made after she was indicted on federal and conspiracy charges in a case involving former or current Detroit Public Schools principals.
In a statement sent to Ypsilanti parents, superintendent Dr. Benjamin Edmondson said the district was surprised by the news and took immediate action.
Ypsilanti New Tech High School principal Scott Snyder has been named interim principal.
