    Eastern Michigan University senior Emily Dzik (Troy, Mich.-Troy) has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, Oct. 21. After being chosen as one-of-30 candidates in September, Dzik made the cut down to the 10 finalists. Fans can vote here for via Facebook beginning now through November 24.

    The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday, Oct. 21, that Eastern Michigan University's women's cross country athlete Victoria Voronko was named the MAC Runner of the Week after her performance at the Indiana State University Pre-Nationals Invitational, Oct. 18.  Voronko has picked up the honor an outstanding 10 times in her career, as she has earned it after each of her five races this season.

    The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday, Oct. 21, that Eastern Michigan University's men's cross country captain Willy Fink was named the MAC Runner of the Week after his race at the Indiana State University Pre-Nationals Invitational, Oct. 18.  The award is the third of Fink's career as well as the third of the 2014 campaign, as he has been awarded the honor for every race in which he has competed.

    The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) membership has selected Heather Lyke, Vice President/Director of Athletics at Eastern Michigan University, Lisa Campos, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Northern Arizona University, and Julie Muller, Commissioner of the North Atlantic Conference, to serve as 2014-15 board of directors members. Lynn Hickey, Director of Athletics at University of Texas-San Antonio, will serve as incoming NACWAA President-Elect and Executive Committee member.

EMU Eagles forward and red-shirt senior, Glenn Bryant was featured as No. 4  on Tuesday's top ten plays on ESPN's Sportscenter during their 56-37 victory over rival Western Michigan University. 

EMU basketball games can be heard on 89.1 WEMU or online at wemu.org throughout the season.

EMU Welcomes New Football Coach Chris Creighton [photos]

Eastern Michigan University's new football coach says he's excited to be here and passionate to work with the players.  

Chris Creighton was introduced to the EMU community at a press conference Thursday that included a pep talk by the new coach. Creighton says his goal at EMU is to win a MAC championship as soon as possible, but also to make sure they are getting everything out of the program's potential, adding that he will work his offense around what the players are most capable of doing, but wants to have a balanced attack.

Eastern Michigan University Names Creighton as Head Football Coach

Eastern Michigan University has named Chris Creighton as its head football coach. Creighton comes from Des Moines, Iowa's Drake University, where he led the Bulldogs as their head coach for the past six years. He becomes the 37th full-time head coach in EMU's 122-year history.
