Ann Arbor's controversial crosswalk ordinance has gotten a lot of attention across the city, but a task force is looking to address all issues around pedestrian safety.  They're asking for help from the community to understand the issue fully.

At least one Ann Arbor neighborhood may change the way snow and ice is removed from sidewalks next winter.  Ann Arbor businessman Paul Tinkerhess and others are working on the SnowBuddy concept to have a small tractor plow all of the sidewalks in the Water Hill neighborhood.

The Ann Arbor Police Department is just over one-third of the way through a six month effort to increase pedestrian and motorist safety.  Almost 50 officers have worked overtime in the last two months specifically for the 26 Weeks to Safer Streets Program.

Ann Arbor is creating a task force to look at pedestrian safety and access, but even before the group meets a change in the city's crosswalk law is expected. 

Ann Arbor City Council took a pair of actions at their meeting last night with an eye towards pedestrian safety, but concerns remain about if they will do anything positive.
