Michigan State University interim president John Engler is facing fallout from e-mails he sent regarding the Larry Nassar scandal.  A new redistricting proposal is heading to the November ballot.  Plus, Planned Parenthood is facing major cuts due to the next state budget.  WEMU's David Fair and the Michigan Public Radio Network's Rick Pluta discuss these issues in this week's "The State of Politics."

U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan and many of his Republican colleagues are, again, pushing an agenda that would include de-funding Planned Parenthood.  The effort is nothing new, but now there is a new, and unpredictable, president assuming power. 89-1 WEMU’s David Fair looks into the situation with the President of Planned Parenthood of Michigan, Lori Carpentier.

Kate and Nate from Ann Arbor have created "Pincause" and a special pin featuring the American sign language symbol of love from the deaf culture.

It includes many different colors created to unite women of all backgrounds, colors, shapes and sizes, and beliefs as they participate in women's marches across the country on January 21st.  It is their intention to create something that encourages people to come together wearing one same symbol of love.
