New housing developments often lead to concerns about increased traffic.  But what if the additional traffic is expected to use an already busy and awkward intersection?  Ann Arbor officials hope to avoid this problem on the city's north side where Green and Dhu Varren Roads don't quite line up where they intersect with Nixon. A redesign of the intersection is expected to be part of developments planned for the area.

Pennsylvania-based Toll Brothers proposes a 109-acre, 491 unit housing development on Ann Arbor's Northeast side. The scope of the planned development has area residents concerned about traffic congestion and harm to area wetlands. In this week's "Issues of the Environment" we explore those concerns with Lisa Dusseau. Ms. Dusseau is spokesperson for the group, "Ann Arbor Northeast Alliance".

Proposals to build homes on Ann Arbor's north side are another indication that the area's real estate market is heating up.  Toll Brothers is holding a community meeting Thursday night on plans to build 500 residences at Dhu Varren and Nixon.
