This week on Art and Soul: The Art of Better Living, I speak with the co-founder of Zingerman's, and the publisher of several books, Ari Weinzweig.

He has a new book out titled "The Power of Beliefs in Business," but the lengthy book has information and insights that can be applied to everyone's everyday life as well.

Weinzweig says the way to create a self-fulfilling positive cycle in our lives starts with our beliefs.

Eastern Michigan University’s Board of Regents yesterday passed a budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1st. As part of the spending measure, the Regents approved a contract with food vendor Chartwells. The decision to privatize the school’s dining services did not come about without some criticism.

The CEO and co-founder of Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, Ari Weinzweig is speaking at the Zing Train Speaker Series about "hope in the workplace."  After encountering some employees engaged in a non hopeful conversation, Weinzweig decided to do some research on the topic and plans to incorporate what he learned in his next book.

I spoke to Nicolette Hahn Niman a rancher, lawyer, author, mother and University of Michigan law school graduate about her upcoming presentation about the "sustainability of beef" at Zingerman's on September 13th.

Zingerman's could be coming to Ypsilanti.

Thompson Block partner Tyler Weston says Zingerman's has signed a letter of intent to occupy retail space in the renovated building, as has Espresso Royale.

"We're really excited to have both of these amazing local entrepreneurs in our building," Weston says, noting that a letter of intent is just the first step.

"It's non-binding, but we're hoping to work together with them to make them a great space in our building and bring them lots of business."
